Geology and mineralization
The Isozibi showing was discovered by MDN in 2005 approximately 16 km to the northwest of the Tulawaka mine plant. The showing measured 1 km by 1km and was tested by drilling from 2005 to 2007.
- The Isozibi project is located in the southern contact of the Rwamagaza greenstone belt, host of the Tulawaka (> 748000 oz Au) and Buck Reef (± 1.8 million oz Au) mines.
- Gold anomaly detected by soil survey is associated with BIF forming the Isozibi hill, and located between the volcanics in the north and the grandiorite in the south.
- The Tulawaka mine occurs in a similar geologic environment along the southern contact of the belt.
