Chairman of the Board

Serge Savard has been a Partner with Thibault, Messier, Savard & Associates since 1993. Mr. Savard is also involved in numerous fundraisers and other activities aimed at promoting and helping the community. A former National Hockey League star, he played on eight winning Stanley Cup-winning teams with the Montreal Canadiens and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1986.

President & CEO

Serge Bureau holds a geological engineer degree and a Master of Science degree in Geology from the University of Quebec in Chicoutimi. He has worked in the mining industry for 30 years including 25 years in gold mining operations. From 1994 to 2008, Mr. Bureau held managerial positions at Barrick Gold Corporation in North America, South America and Russia. In North America, Mr. Bureau, as Manager Mining Engineering and Geology, was responsible for the long term mine planning of the underground operations. In Peru, he was directly involved in the development, feasibility and construction of Las Lagunas Norte mine, which produced over 800,000 ounces of gold annually. In the Dominican Republic, Mr. Bureau was a key member of the feasibility study team of the Pueblo Viejo project, one of the most important gold projects under development in the world. Mr. Bureau started his career in Quebec with Soquem and later worked with Lac Mineral Ltd. Amongst other achievements, he was involved in the development of the Bousquet 1, Bousquet 2 and Doyon mines. In May 2008, Mr. Bureau co-founded Minéraux Crevier Inc. and, as its President, led the marketing, financing and managerial strategies of the Company. Mr. Bureau is a member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).

Paul Gobeil, F.C.A. is a recognized member of both Quebec and the international business communities. He is presently a Board member of the National Bank of Canada and acts as President of the Auditing and Risk Management Committee. He also serves on many other Boards including those of Métro, Diagnocure, Yellow Pages Income Fund, Munich Reinsurance Company of Canada, as well as several educational, cultural and charitable organizations. He was also Chairman of the Board of Hydro-Québec International, Domtar, European Aeronautic Defence and Space (EADS) Canada and Development Canada. A Fellow of l’Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec with tenure of the "Advanced Program in Management" of the Harvard Business School, Mr. Gobeil was in Quebec politics from 1985 to 1989 initially as Minister responsible for Government Administration and Chair of the Treasury Board, and subsequently, was Minister of International Relations and contributed to bringing a large number of foreign investments to Quebec.

Raymond Legault holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in economics from Université de Montréal. For eight years (1997 to 2005), he was an investment executive with ScotiaMcLeod, where he offered consulting services to individual investors and small business owners with respect to their investment portfolios. He was also president and general manager of his own publishing company for 14 years and, prior to that, held different senior management positions for 10 years for a major telecommunications company. Mr. Legault presently offers his services as a financial consultant.

Jacques Bonneau graduated as a geological engineer from Laval University and holds an MSc degree from the same institution. He has more than thirty years’ experience in the mining industry and has been an officer of Soquem, Falconbridge Copper Corporation, Groupe Vior-Mazarin, Minéraux Sequoia Inc and Azimut Exploration Inc. He remains director of Midland Exploration Inc. and Crevier Minerals Inc., special advisor for Eastmain Resources Inc., as well as a consultant for CGE Resources, a Québec flow-through share fund.

R.Lavallière

Director

Robert La Vallière joined MDN in June 2010, as a Board member. He has more than 25 years experience in the mining industry including exploration, project evaluations, M & A activities and communications experience in domestic and international settings. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in geology from the Université de Québec in 1978 and a MBA from Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) affiliated to the University of Montréal in 1982. Mr La Vallière is a member of the Ordre des Géologues du Québec (P.Geo.) and the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM).
